Tangled Up in Cichlids is an internet based, ecommerce company so email is our sole form of communication.
I try to answer as many emails as I can get to between 9:00 am until 12:00 pm (Eastern time) and because I can only answer so many emails at a time or I am elbow deep in an aquarium in the hatchery email is the best way for communication. After 12:00 pm I am in the fish hatchery away from the computer so email response time becomes very limited. This is when I begin to prepare the days orders to be shipped. Fish start to be pulled and bagged typically around 12:00 pm (Eastern time) and often are not completed until 7:00 pm (Eastern time). The orders are then taken by me personally directly to my UPS hub located in Parsippany, NJ by 7:15 pm. *If you email between 12 pm and 7 pm eastern time do not expect the email to be answered right away. Emails received during those times will be replied to later in the evening or the following morning. Please do not send multiple emails looking for a faster response.

Tangled Up in Cichlids is not an open to the public retail store. I have no physical store for clients to visit. I am a single person run operation with no other employees. All emails are answered by me personally and all orders are pulled, packed, and shipped by me personally. Although I am in my facility 7 days a week and often for many hours outside of my posted operation hours, my time schedule is very specific in order to be able to feed fish, tend to aquarium maintenance, answer questions via email and telephone, pull fish for orders, pack the orders, take them to my local UPS hub for shipment and of course communicate with export companies and collector's from all over the world who are often in completely opposite time zones. I will have many random days when I will be limited or have no communication at all such as days when I have imports landing, exports to deliver at an airport, or if I am traveling for other fish related business and of course any personal family related events. I apologize if I cannot answer your email on some days as fast as others. I have to consider the health and safety of the fish by maintaining the aquarium environment and limit the time they are handled. This will always be my number one priority. Please keep in mind that I am not ignoring you. I am making sure I am able to provide you with the best possible and most diverse stock availability found in the US that rivals or surpasses almost all publicly open retail establishments.
